Our Philosophy

Business with a purpose and a conscience

At Litegreen Foundation CIC, we work together with other local and social supply chains, promoting collaboration with those who share our values for the benefit of the people in our community.

Our Philosophy

When it comes to supporting individuals during difficult times, such as those facing fuel poverty, it's easy to focus on what they lack rather than their existing resources. This approach often leads to addressing only short-term needs, such as providing emergency fuel top-ups, without tackling the root causes of the problem.

The root cause of fuel poverty is often linked to outdated and inefficient housing, which can trap vulnerable individuals in a cycle of hardship. Unfortunately, this issue disproportionately affects those already experiencing health and wealth inequalities, making them more vulnerable to developing or exacerbating health and financial problems.

As a result, it's crucial to adopt a holistic approach to support, which not only addresses immediate needs but also works towards long-term solutions. Collaboration with other organisations is key. This may involve initiatives such as improving the energy efficiency of homes or providing financial support for sustainable heating systems. By taking a proactive approach, we can ensure that individuals experiencing fuel poverty receive the help they need to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing.

Community organiSations and buildings are crucial to tackling fuel poverty and promoting sustainability. They provide immediate support, such as emergency fuel top-ups, while also working on long-term solutions like ongoing support and signposting. Community organisations advocate for policy changes, offer educational programs, and connect people with resources. Meanwhile, community buildings act as hubs for distributing support and showcasing energy-saving measures. By working together with these organisation we hope to reach those that need our help the most.

Our Values

We believe that business should have a purpose and a conscience. Our approach aims to enhance accessibility and provide fair opportunities to skills, professionals, and government energy funding grants that improve housing stocks, decarbonize entire communities, and reduce the risk of people in need being left out or misguided.

We adhere to a set of robust social values that guide our ethical approach to business and company culture. Our core values are:

Environment
Accessibility
Collaboration
Transparency

The Litegreen Foundation is dedicated to helping entire communities, as well as the people, groups, and businesses within them, save energy, money, and the planet.

We achieve this through:

  • Maximizing funding from all available streams and delivering whole-house retrofit programs focused on social value, bringing older buildings up to modern standards to help people save energy and money.
  • Providing expert and impartial energy efficiency and decarbonisation consultancy services for domestic and commercial buildings.
  • Reaching out to the most vulnerable in society, empowering them to maintain warmer, healthier, and happier lives.

Our Aims

Create efficient homes.

We are dedicated to advancing the large-scale retrofitting of low-carbon, energy-efficient homes across Wales and the UK.

By leveraging our expertise in this area, as well as our partnerships with industry leaders and community organisations, we can help to bring about positive change on a national scale.

So whether you're a homeowner, a community group, or a business, we are here to support your efforts to reduce your carbon footprint and create a more sustainable future for all.

Social focus.

Our goal at Litegreen Foundation CIC is to promote collaboration between the voluntary sector and local, social, and ethical supply chains.

By fostering strong relationships between these groups, we can create a more cohesive and sustainable community, where everyone is working together to achieve a common goal.

Whether you're a community group looking to partner with local businesses or an ethical supplier seeking to support worthy causes, we are here to facilitate these connections and help make a positive impact on our local community.

Upskill communities.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive training and upskilling opportunities in energy, housing, commercial buildings, retrofitting, and funding to entire communities.

We believe that by equipping individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in these areas, we can make a positive impact on our communities and create a brighter future for everyone.

Profit shares.

We are using profits generated from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) to make homes more energy-efficient and putting them back into the communities we serve.

By doing so, we are creating opportunities for other community groups to generate unrestricted income, which can be used to support a wide range of causes.

Additionally, our approach to using ECO funds means that we can support people who may not qualify for energy efficiency measures but are still struggling to pay their energy bills. This could include providing energy top-ups or paying for measures that are not covered by the ECO scheme.

Overall, by reinvesting ECO profits back into our communities, we can help create a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
